About me
Hi, everyone! It’s been really nice to have you as my students this term. Although you started this blog last semester, I think it’s worth keeping on working on such a nice project. When I was taking a look at what you had already written about, I could see there is a short description each of you wrote about yourself, so I decided to do the same, so that you can also know a little about me.
I was born in Brasília in 1970 and I have lived here since then. I started studying at CTJ in 1982 and I just fell in love with the language. When I had to choose what to study at college, I had no doubt – Letras. I started teaching English at a small school close to my house in Taguatinga when I was sixteen and I have never stopped doing so. I’ve been working at CTJ for thirteen years.
I got married in 1991. In 1997, my daughter Ana Luísa was born ,and in 1999 I had Arthur. I got divorced in 2002, but I got married again this month. I hope this time it lasts forever! When my kids got a little older, I decided to go back to studying. In 2006, I started a master’s program in Applied Linguistics at Universidade de Brasília. I’m supposed to finish it by the end of the year, so I’ve been studying really hard.
One of the things I like the most is being with my family and friends. I just love talking! It’s very common for my sisters and I to meet to talk about nothing special. Just being together is great! I think that’s one of the reasons I became a teacher – I must be in contact with people to be happy! I also love going shopping. When I can’t buy anything, going window-shopping is enough. It really makes me feel relaxed and energized for another day of work.
I hope we have a nice time this semester, and who knows… maybe we can meet some time to go shopping together!
