MY FAVORITE TEACHER

It was my first day at Galois and the class was full of faces expecting the next boring teacher. Well, that was not what happened: what I saw was a blond and fat man, whose blue eyes were the owner of my attention at that moment, walking in my classroom and saying "Hello, students! My name is Fernando and I teach Byology". He had "a thing" that I can't explain, but I totally concentaded myself in his words and just thought about others stuffs when he stopped talking.

I am not a big fan of Byology and don't get great grades either, but even this way he is my favorite teacher. What I really like about him is the way he talks about himself: he had cancer, started smoking with thirteen and quit it with nineteen (because of cancer), he got his first work when he was sixteen and emacipated himself with this age too.  But he doesn't say about his difficulties and experiences with sad voice and weakness. He is capable of saying serious problems with a mature voice, which makes me think how life can be hard and how people, including me, are strong enough to keep living.

However, he has an inconstant humor and when he is having a bad day it is impossible not knowing this because he became a very nonfriendly person. In other hand, I am sure that he is who he looks because his bad-tempered makes him a normal and honest person, who has bad and good moments and doesn't try to look always happy.

All his experiences shared with us and the love in his face when he talks about the subject he teachs make me see that some people change the world just doing little things, because he is an example of them. And thinking this way, I am availlable to change something around me and be an example to people that is gonna change their behavior and maybe world gets better and works as only one.

KING SALOMON

The king Salomon is one of the most famous kings in the world. He is the responsible for the buildind of the First Temple in Jerusalem and is the subject of many other later references and legends.

One day, after had lunch, the king Salomon heard of a guard that there were two women wanting to talk to him. The king, who was well-known by his wisdom and kindness, allowed the women to come in. When they went in the room, they were competing for hold a baby.

Salomon ordered them to be quite and then asked what the problem was. The firs woman said that the baby was her child and complained that the other woman who was in the room tried to steal it. The second woman said the same thing.

After thinking a lot, the king ordered to cut the kid in two parts and give each part to each woman. The first woman said "it is fair" and the second suplied "no, please! I prefer to give my son to this woman to cut him" and after that the king knew who was the real mother and gave the child to the second woman.

FRIENDSHIP

I first met Carol when we were both 14 years old. At first moment, she was just a girl of my classroom, but we started talking and a few months later she was my best friend. While we were talking, we found out that our thoughts and ideologies were not compatible, but even this way we kept being friends and telling everything about ourselves to each other.

She is the image of good girls: she always gets good grades, she always pains attention in class, she doesn't make fun of nobody and she is dedicated to her boyfriend. What I most like about her is he nonjudgement about things I do or things I have done. I can always count on her. What I hate about her is she telling me that my ex-boyfriend is stupid and that I deserve better men. When she do it, I feel angry, because I've learned a lot with him, so, saying bad things about him, she is saying that the changes of my life that he helped me to make are stupid too.

We talk about everything: books, movies, school, boys, girls, gossips, clothes, make-up, fashion, trips... We do not go out very often because we like to go to different parties and different places on weekends, but, when we do, we usually go to a mall.

I don't know why we become such good friends, rather I know she has been teaching me to be a better person and a better friend than I used to be. I've never thanked her for being by my side, but I think that being by her side is other way to say 'I am glad you are my friend. Thank you'

MY BEST VACATION

Although a tourist and a traveler have something in common, sometimes they may be very different. It's hard to classify me as a tourist because I hate making noise and spending my time only shopping but I also hate passing through discomfortable situations and seeing the region on foot, so I can't be considered a traveler either.

When I went to England to make an exchange program, my behaviour was similar to a traveler's because I used to do things that people who were born there do. In the morning, I used to go to an English school. I spent my evenings walking in the city, going to the main street and meeting friends in a café. At night, I returned to my host house to have typical dinner and to talk with my host family about the differences between Brazil and England. On the weekends, I used to travel to other countries in Europe(Scotland, Spain and Holland) in a group of brazilians.

I got to England by plane, and it was the slowest trip I have ever made. I could not resit shopping on duty free. I think the best thing I bought in this trip was the chocolate bar "KIT KAT", it is so delicious. The only thing I regret not doing is shopping more, because when I came back to Brazil, I had a lot of spare euros.

What I learned with this trip was that the English food received some influence of indian food and people there are not so cold as we think, but they are extremely polite what, in my oppinion, is good.
